Improved spacer design and cost reduction in an electrodialysis system

In electrodialysis using thin membranes and spacers, the compactness of the membrane cell-pairs leads to a small potential drop, and hence to energy saving. The spacer design itself has a great effect on the cost of the plants, since spacers act as turbulence promoters. A careful design, to increase the mass transfer coefficients, can reduce the membrane surface area required for a given application. Limiting current measurements, cell-pair resistance and pressure losses are presented for several thin spacers, for different flow-velocity values and feed water concentrations. It was possible to find an advantageous geometry of the separating mesh leading to substantial savings on investment and operation costs.     

液晶显示器用衬垫料的扫描电镜图像

论述了液晶显示器 (LCD)用衬垫料的作用和性能要求。给出了液晶显示器用衬垫料的扫描电镜图像。该图像对观测衬垫料的粒径分布和控制液晶显示器的盒厚均匀程度 ,消除液晶显示器的底色差异具有一定的意义。实验所得图像为从事液晶显示器的工程技术人员提供了清晰的衬垫料图像 ,为排除衬垫料的不均匀因素所造成的液晶屏的质量问题提供了依据。     

三片式液晶投影仪的立体视觉研究

基于对三原色信号进行偏振特性的分析,提出了一种在三片式液晶投影显示设备上实现立体显示的新方法。该方法利用红色和蓝色信号光与绿色信号光在偏振方向上正交的特性,在信号通道之间引入视差,实现了三维立体显示。因此这种方法被称为补色偏振体视。介绍了该方法的基本原理,并详细叙述了用PHOTOSHOP软件制作补色偏振立体图对的方法。     

Spacer effect of appended moieties for molecular recognition in doubly-sodium anthranilate modified γ-cyclodextrin

-Cyclodextrin with two sodium anthranilate moieties (1) has been prepared as a sensor for detecting organic compounds including terpenoids and steroids. Compound1 shows a pure monomer fluorescence whose intensity is increased or decreased upon addition of the guest species examined. In this system, the sodium anthranilate moieties act either as a spacer, which enables the cyclodextrin to form a 1:1 host-guest complex by narrowing the -cyclodextrin cavity, or as a hydrophobic cap.1 recognizes steroids with much higher sensitivity than terpenoids, in which the appended moieties act as a hydrophobic cap for terpenoids and a spacer for steroids, respectively.     

含柔性间隔基的热致液晶性共聚酯的结晶形态

采用偏光显微镜、扫描和透射电镜从不同层次的结构水平上研究了含柔性间隔基热致液晶性共聚酯的结晶形态。在偏光显微镜下观察到典型的负光性球晶形态,透射电镜揭示了球晶是由厚度为10nm并沿着径向生长的片晶结构所组成,分子链沿晶片厚度方向取向排列。并研究了分子链的刚性程度对热致聚芳酯结晶性质的影响。结果表明,分子链刚性越大其结晶性和球晶的完善性越高。     

MOLECULAR FIELD THEORY FOR NEMATIC LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYMER COMPRISING FLEXIBLE SPACER

Basea on the new model and concept of mtramolecular orientational order parameter, a molecular field theory was built up for main chain liquid crystalline polymer (MC-LCPs) with flexible spacers. The theory takes account of orientational correlation among all mesogens in a polymer chain and the relationship between the intramolecular orientation and spatial orientation of the mesogens. The free energy, temperature and entropy of the nematic-isotropic transition were determined with the theory and compared with experiments in current work. It was found that many unique transition properties of the MC-LCPs comprising flexible spacer are correctly predicted by the theory and the agreement of the theory with the experiments is impressive.     

Conjugates of polyhedral boron compounds with carbohydrates

Conjugates of β-lactosylamine derivatives bearing terminal amino groups in aglycon with ortho-carboranylacetic acid were synthesized. Five glycoconjugates with spacers of different length (from 9 to 18 atoms) and hydrophilicity containing di-, tri-, and pentapeptide fragments constructed of glycine and serine residues and spacers incorporating ethylenediamine and tartaric acid or tertiary amine residues were prepared Dedicated to the memory of outstanding chemist and biochemist V. Organosoluble and transparent polyimides derived from alicyclic dianhydride and aromatic diamines

Organosoluble polyimides were synthesized with the alicyclic dianhydride 1,8‐dimethylbicyclo[2,2,2]oct‐7‐ene‐2,3,5,6‐tetracarboxylic dianhydride and aromatic diamines. The polyimides possessed good solubility both in strong dipolar solvents and in common solvents; the thermal decomposition temperature of the polyimides exceeded 420 °C. Strong and flexible films of the polyimides, with the cutoff of ultraviolet–visible absorption lower than 310–320 nm, exhibited good features as the alignment layers for nematic liquid crystals with pretilt angles of 1.5–2.9°. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 影响SAPO－11分子筛焙烧前后晶胞空间群变化的因素

 从合成参数出发，详细考察了不同因素对SAPO－11分子筛焙烧前后晶胞空间群变化的影响．发现成胶方式、成胶温度、模板剂组成、晶化温度、晶化时间及分子筛产物组成均是影响分子筛晶胞空间群变化的因素．MAS－NMR分析结果表明，分子筛的微观结构决定了分子筛晶胞空间群的变化，Si（4Si）区增加，分子筛保持为Icm2空间群的趋势增强．     

Synthesis of monodispersed organic-inorganic hybrid spheres

This paper describes the attempt to prepare a new group of monodispersed silica-polymer hybrid particles, which consists of silica and amide polymer: poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and poly(2-ethyloxazoline) (POXZ). Preparation method is based on the growth of hybrid seeds by the addition of TEOS-polymer solution.Monodispersed PVP-silica hybrid particles of 1.24 µm in diameter were prepared by growing the hybrid seeds of 0.54 µm by the addition of TEOS-PVP solution with ammonia catalyst. In the case of POXZ-silica particles, addition of TEOS-POXZ solution to the solution containing 0.54 µm seeds resulted in monodispersed POXZ-silica hybrid particles and four times repetition of the addition for particle growth gave the hybrid particles of the diameter of 1.6 µm.Improvement of mechanical properties of hybrid particles was observed when the particles were heated at 100 200°C.
